"that" Corner, untouched.

I guess I am easily distracted by current events. It's the only excuse I have for not getting to the housework.

Today there were massive bombings on the trains of Bombay. Immediately the Mayor of NYC sent swat teams swarming through the subway system. Call me crazy, but I don't understand the connection. I find heavily armed, militarized police swarms VERY discomfiting. They make me feel less, not more safe. I know I can't be alone in this.

It must be a Republican thing. Saudis attacked us, so we attacked Iraqis. Bombay trains were attacked, so we lock down the New York subway system. (sigh). John Deans new book about conservatives may shed some light.

I just found out the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young are going to be performing nearby in August. Quick - get me ticketron!!

Good Intentions

Monday mornings are full of plans.
There are the usual Monday chores; take the garbage to the curb, do the laundry, etc. And then there are the other things; flip the mattresses, dig out that corner (you know which one), reorganize the file drawer.. all the stuff that you've already put off more than once.

And the weather is just perfect. And your favorite late night show is waiting for you on the TIVO, and your favorite posters are alive & kicking on your favorite forum. And you still haven't finished your Sunday NY Times. And, and, and..

So I'll get to that corner tomorrow, right after I come back from the weekly grocery trip.

To See by the Sea

I live by the shore. I see the sea. I haven't a telescope, but I see just fine, thankyouverymuch.

Just a housewife with a computer and some curiosity. Between taking care of the kids & my honey, I will post bits and pieces of what I gather, washed up on the digital shore from around the net.

Right now I'm a bit distracted, because something that’s making pretty big news online is raising barely a peep on TV. The true outcome of the Mexico election is as murky as brackish water. There seems to be some involvement by a company called "Choicepoint". They are the same people who purged the stuffing out of Florida's voter roles just before our election of 2000.

It appears that Mexico is experiencing its own Florida Coup. I hope they get to count all the votes from certified ballots that are turning up in garbage dumps about the place.

I really miss when I could get the news on TV. It would save so much hunting around. It seem the only real news on the tube these days is on Keith Olberman's Countdown and on The Daily Show (which isn't even a "real" news show ~ which shows you what a mess we've gotten into.)
